ABSTRACT Conventional hypergolic propellants cause technical problems due to their toxicity and carcinogenic properties, which increase development costs and lead to significant environmental issues. These challenges can be addressed by incorporating additives with low‐toxicity fuels to render them hypergolic.

Abstract Agglomerations of carbon‐based inclusions and the low adhesion of inclusion‐matrix interfaces are commonly viewed as detrimental to the strength and fracture toughness of ceramic composites. While large, high‐power agglomerations indeed promote microcracking, our computations show that moderate agglomeration levels can enhance energy ...

Study on Separation Characteristics of Nozzles with Large Expansion Ratio of Solid Rocket Motors
In order to study the flow characteristics of a nozzle with large expansion ratio and its influence on the force on the nozzle, ground cold flow test research and a fluid–structure coupling simulation analysis were carried out (maximum expansion ratio ε =

Abstract Silicon carbide (SiC) is a promising material for hypersonic thermal protection systems, but its complex oxidation behavior—marked by transitions between passive, active, and interfacial bubbling regimes—can lead to catastrophic failure. Existing SiC models typically focus exclusively on either passive or active oxidation.

The performances of two linear aerospike nozzles, generated by truncating the same plug contour at 40% and 20% of its ideal length, are investigated numerically within a two-dimensional approximation and compared with each other. The nozzle geometry is a

This study presents an in‐depth structural evaluation of the convergent nozzle in a microgas turbine engine (MGTE), focusing on the performance of various lightweight materials used in aerospace applications. The research investigates both structural and aerothermal characteristics of the nozzle under realistic operating conditions.

Shock Wave and Aeroelastic Coupling in Overexpanded Nozzle
The growing demand for increasing the engine power of a liquid rocket is driving the development of high-power De-Laval nozzles, which is primarily achieved by increasing the expansion ratio.

Thrust analysis of rocket landing on planetary granular surfaces [PDF]
We systematically investigate the thrust exerted by a high-speed air jet using laboratory experiments. The study considers smooth and bumpy rigid plates, as well as a deformable granular bed that simulates planetary surfaces.
