Process analysis of rockfalls with stationary terrestrial LiDAR and RockFall Analyst
2011Rockfalls are a hazard concern for many transportation corridors in Alberta and British Columbia. A method of analyzing and further understanding rockfalls could help to reduce the hazard potential that rockfalls present. Rockfall hazard assessments are carried out in three steps: (1) identification of hazard zones, (2) site investigation to establish ...

Modelling Rockfall Protection Fences
2008The paper reports an analytical formulation of a block impacting into a metallic net of a rockfall protection fence able to evaluate the net elongation and its braking time. The analytical procedure has been calibrated through a comparison with the experimental results of full-scale impact tests carried out in a vertical-drop test site.

Mars is known to have a plethora of active surface processes at the present day, and the role of water is vigorously debated. Here we study rocks falling from exposed outcrops of bedrock, which have left trails on the slope over which they have bounced and/or rolled.

Rockfall in BagbasıVillage (Usak)
2014Uşak’ın 11 km kuzeydoğusunda yer alan Bağbaşı Köyü kaya düşmesi tehdidi altındadır. Köy, Elmadağ volkanik kütlesinin 1100- 1190 metre yükseltileri arasında kurulmuştur. Köyün doğusunda yer alan yamaçtaki çatlaklı bir yapıya sahip blok oluşturma potansiyeli yüksek volkanik kökenli kaya kütleleri, yerçekiminin etkisi ile yuvarlanmakta ve yerleşim ...
