WRINKLED ROD

Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, 1999
The sequence of equilibrium displacements of periodically wrinkled elastic arches is considered. The middle curve of each arch is a plane periodic curve whose amplitude and period are assumed to be small. By the use of the two-scale convergence an approximate model for equilibrium displacement of wrinkled arch is derived. In this model, named wrinkled

Rod increment thresholds in cone-rod dystrophy

Applied Optics, 1989
Rod system increment threshold functions (ITFs) were studied in patients with cone-rod dystrophy (CRD). Rod thresholds (I(t)) for a 104-min, 500-nm test stimulus (TS), superimposed on an 11 degrees long wavelength background (luminance I(b)), were measured in eleven CRD patients and fourteen normal subjects.

ROD CANTILEVER TECHNIQUES

Neurosurgery, 2008
Cantilever beam fixation techniques have a broad application in spine surgery, including the treatment of thoracolumbar spinal deformities. There are traditionally three cantilever beam fixation types described: fixed moment arm, nonfixed moment arm, and applied moment arm. In practice, however, most constructs are applied in a hybrid fashion.

Rod–Cone Interrelation

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1969
The summation-index technique was applied to the study of rod–cone interrelation. Adaptation to 500 nm and parafoveal presentation of the test stimuli provides a condition where the first test flash, 440 nm, stimulates only rods and the second test flash, beyond 580 nm, mostly cones.
