An early warning system for multivariate time series with sparse and non-uniform sampling [PDF]
In this paper we propose a new early warning test statistic, the ratio of deviations (RoD), which is defined to be the root mean squared of successive differences divided by the standard deviation.

Bianchi permutability for the anti-self-dual Yang-Mills equations [PDF]
The anti-self-dual Yang-Mills equations are known to have reductions to many integrable differential equations. A general B\"acklund transformation (BT) for the ASDYM equations generated by a Darboux matrix with an affine dependence on the spectral ...

Microstructural evolution and hardness optimization along the cross‐section of friction stir welded AA6061/AlSi10MgMn joints, for electric vehicle battery housings, were investigated. Postweld aging between 170°C and 220°C enhances hardness uniformity within the nugget zone.

An experimental study on mechanical properties of GFRP braid-pultruded composite rods
In this work, a conventional textile braiding machine was modified and added to a pultrusion line in order to produce glass fiber reinforced composite rods by braiding-pultrusion technique.

Mouse rods signal through gap junctions with cones
Rod and cone photoreceptors are coupled by gap junctions (GJs), relatively large channels able to mediate both electrical and molecular communication. Despite their critical location in our visual system and evidence that they are dynamically gated for ...

Spatial chaos of an extensible conducting rod in a uniform magnetic field
The equilibrium equations for the isotropic Kirchhoff rod are known to form an integrable system. It is also known that the effects of extensibility and shearability of the rod do not break the integrable structure.

Rheocasting versus Die Casting: An Insight into the Low‐Cycle Fatigue Behavior of AlSi7Mg0.6
The study compares rheocast lightweight components with high‐pressure die cast materials regarding microstructure and fatigue behavior. Rheocast process offers higher efficiency due to lower casting temperatures. Despite some microstructural differences, both processes show similar strengths (yield strength 125 MPa, tensile strength 240 MPa).

Electrical servo actuator bracket [PDF]
An electrical servo actuator is mounted on a support arm which is allowed to pivot on a bolt through a fixed mounting bracket. The actuator is pivotally connected to the end of the support arm by a bolt which has an extension allowed to pass through a ...

Nano and viscoelastic Beck's column on elastic foundation
Beck's type column on Winkler type foundation is the subject of the present analysis. Instead of the Bernoulli-Euler model describing the rod, two generalized models will be adopted: Eringen non-local model corresponding to nano-rods and viscoelastic ...

Age-related deterioration of rod vision in mice [PDF]
Even in healthy individuals, aging leads to deterioration in visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, visual field, and dark adaptation. Little is known about the neural mechanisms that drive the age-related changes of the retina and, more specifically ...
