Temperature, Disinfectant Concentration and Bacterial Innate Properties Influence the Disinfection of Bacterial Pathogens Relevant to Catfish Aquaculture

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aquaculture systems suffer a wide range of losses, mostly due to bacterial disease outbreaks, and the use of disinfectants is a routine practice for controlling the spread of pathogenic organisms globally. Including Aeromonas hydrophila, Streptococcus agalactiae and Edwardsiella tarda, implicated for natural disease outbreaks and economic ...

Thermogenesis‐derived spatiotemporal microclimates guide pollinator movement to ensure pollination

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Alocasia odora's microclimatic heterogeneity guides Colocasiomyia fly movement within its inflorescence. During the female stage, midday heat in the upper spadix pushes flies down to the cooler female zone. During the male stage, nocturnal warmth in the upper part pulls flies upward and spathe constriction closes the lower female chamber.

Does the Phillips Curve Lie Down as We Age?

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract Using microlevel data, we present evidence that older individuals are less willing to substitute across varieties of goods. We estimate the elasticity of substitution for different age groups and find that the youngest cohort (aged 25–34) exhibits a higher elasticity of substitution compared to the oldest group (65+).

Monetary and Macroprudential Policies under Dollar‐Denominated Foreign Debt

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper studies monetary and macroprudential policies in a small open economy that borrows from abroad in foreign currency. The model features a novel mechanism in which exchange rate depreciation triggered by a borrowing constraint is amplified through balance of payments adjustments, increasing the real burden of foreign debt and causing ...
