RBAC Standard Rationale: Comments on "A Critique of the ANSI Standard on Role-Based Access Control"

IEEE Security & Privacy Magazine, 2007
"For original paper see Ninghui Li et al., vol. 5, no. 6, p.41, (2007)". Some notion of roles for access control predates the research papers cited by the authors by at least a decade. Our work was designed to formalize RBAC and add features (such as hierarchies and constraints) to make it more useful to software developers and administrators ...

Task-Role Based Access Control (T-RBAC): An Improved Access Control Model for Enterprise Environment

2000
Companies today manage business information with computer systems and many users access it for their job functions. Companies need security mechanisms to effectively protect important information. Moreover they need to minimize the interruptions from security mechanisms that cause delays in the execution of business activities.

Mitigating the Intractability of the User Authorization Query Problem in Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

2012
We address the User Authorization Query problem (UAQ) in Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) which relates to sessions that a user creates to exercise permissions. Prior work has shown that UAQ is intractable ( NP -hard). We give a precise formulation of UAQ as a joint optimization problem, and observe that in general, UAQ remains in NP .

A Scheme for Role-Based 3D CCTV Using CS-RBAC (Context-Sensitivity Role-Based Access Control)

2011
A CCTV to ensure the safety of the routine has been used as a tool. Especially in recent years, CCTV has improved the performance of the hardware. As an example, CCTV were realized connection to a smart phone and supporting high-definition CCTV with the advent of CCTV images.

RBAC-HDE: On the Design of a Role-based Access Control with Smart Contract for Healthcare Data Exchange

2019 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics - Taiwan (ICCE-TW), 2019
Recently there have been many emerging innovated Blockchain applications in various sectors including healthcare. In this paper, we propose a role-based access control system, namely, RBAC-HDE, which harnesses the powerful features of Blockchain such as immutability and decentralization, in order to facilitate secure data exchange for healthcare.

Spatio temporal emergency role based access control (STEM-RBAC): A time and location aware role based access control model with a break the glass mechanism

2011 IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC), 2011
The ever-increasing use of information systems and networks in every aspect of our lives has made possible the transfer of data to a wide range of different users and applications. In recent years, several architectures and models have been proposed in order to limit access to resources and ensure that data are available only to authorized users ...
