Alternative work roll material grade for the late-finishing stands of hot strip mills [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences
The ever-increasing demand for high productivity and strip surface quality in hot strip mills (HSMs) has been the driving force in the search for work rolls with excellent wear and mill incidence resistance.

Methods of Predicting the Heading, Pitch and Roll Angles for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

open access: yesCommunications, 2020
The article discusses handicaps in predicting values of rotation angles with regard to Heading, Pitch and Roll for an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Within the simulation of the rotation angle values, the linear, polynomial and logarithmic methods were used ...

Roll Calibration for CryoSat-2: A Comprehensive Approach

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
CryoSat-2 is the first satellite mission carrying a high pulse repetition frequency radar altimeter with interferometric capability on board. Across track interferometry allows the angle to the point of closest approach to be determined by combining ...

Recent Advances of Flexible Electrospun Nanofibers-based Electrodes for Electrochemical Supercapacitors: A Minireview

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2019
Flexibility has been identified as the most important factor in the foldable or bendable electrochemical supercapacitors (ESs), which include: electrical double-layer capacitors, and pseudo-capacitors. In this minireview, electrospun polymeric nanofibers

Rolling Nanoelectrode Lithography [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
Non-uniformity and low throughput issues severely limit the application of nanoelectrode lithography for large area nanopatterning. This paper proposes, for the first time, a new rolling nanoelectrode lithography approach to overcome these challenges. A test-bed was developed to realize uniform pressure distribution over the whole contact area between ...

Intraoperative Collection of Ascitic Fluid With Intra‐ or Postoperative Reinfusion in Ovarian Cancer: Safety and Feasibility of a Roller Pumping Method

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients with ovarian cancer often present with massive ascites, leading to significant protein loss during surgical procedures. Although cell‐free concentrated ascites reinfusion therapy (CART) is used in palliative settings to mitigate protein loss, its application in intraoperative settings remains unexplored.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.
