Investigation of subsurface fatigue crack in PEEK shaft under one-point rolling contact by using 2.5D layer observation method

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
Subsurface fatigue cracks under rolling contact area of the PEEK shaft against an alumina bearing’s ball were investigated for application of frictional part in mechanical element in special situations such as chemical environments.

Self‐Assembled Inorganic Nanomembrane Tubes: Rolled‐Up Piezoelectrics for Microacoustic Wave‐Based Actuators and Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a self‐assembly process to generate free‐standing piezoelectric nanomembranes, forming ultracompact microtubular acoustic wave sensors and actuators. The miniaturized 3D piezoelectric platform reported in this work can be applied in telecommunication, energy harvesting, and acoustofluidics. Moreover, the 3D self‐assembly can add

Undulation of Surfaces Caused, by Rolling Contact

open access: yesBulletin of JSME, 1971
Investigations were conducted on the undulations which occurred on the surfaces of rollers made of carbon steels (S35C, S45C, S55C) and Cr-Mo steel having hardnesses ranging from 160 to 210 HB. Results obtained are as follows : (1) When the surface roughness of the harder roller Rmax is greater than the oil film thickness hmin (based on ...

Electrically Readable Lateral Flow Assay Using Organic Transistors for Diagnostic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrolyte‐gated organic field‐effect transistors (EGOFETs) are integrated with lateral flow (LF) paper fluidics to create a reusable, portable, and low‐cost point‐of‐care (PoC) diagnostic test. The devices are validated for Human Immunoglobulin G detection, achieving high sensitivity (0.1 fm), selectivity, and reproducibility with rapid results in 20–

Mechano-Erosion: a Novel Test Methodology to Accelerate Erosion in Rolling Contact Fatigue Experiments

open access: yesThe Annals of “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati. Fascicle IX, Metallurgy and Materials Science, 2008
Rolling contact fatigue testing of rolling elements with low saturation temperature lubricants result, in several difficulties. Mainly, uncontrolled phase changes due to flow dynamics often cause difficulties in assessing the lubricant effect on fatigue ...

Static Stability Analysis of a Planar Object Grasped by Multifingers with Three Joints

open access: yesRobotics, 2015
This paper discusses static stability of a planar object grasped by multifingers with three joints. Each individual joint (prismatic joint or revolute joint) is modeled as a linear spring stiffness.

3D Anodic Alumina Nanoarchitectures: A Decade of Progress from Foundational Science to Functional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ordered three‐dimensional anodic aluminum oxide (3D‐AAO) nanoarchitectures with longitudinal and transverse pores enable architecture‐driven metamaterials. The review maps fabrication advances, including hybrid pulse anodization, and shows how 3D‐AAO templates tailor properties across magnetism, energy, catalysis, and sensing.
