Materials Testing, 2019Abstract Cyclic temperature changes in the working layer of a roll during hot rolling cause thermal stress which leads to damage on the surface layer of the roll due to thermal fatigue. The pre-conditions of crack initiation are described.

Laboratory Evaluation of Rolling Resistance
2021This paper presents a laboratory test method to characterize the relationship between rolling resistance and macrotexture of road surfaces. Description of the testing (machine, samples, protocol) is provided. Results are comparable to those obtained by instrumented trailers on road surfaces with similar macrotexture.
