Exploring staff experiences and perceptions of patient‐perpetrated violence in hospital settings: A qualitative study

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Nursing, Volume 35, Issue 5, Page 2483-2495, May 2026.
Abstract Aims To explore hospital staff experiences and perceptions of patient‐perpetrated violence. Design Descriptive qualitative study. Methods Twelve semi‐structured interviews (June–August 2022) were held with a diverse sample of hospital nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, security and a non‐clinical manager.

Grain Dynamics in a Two-dimensional Granular Flow

open access: yes, 2000
We have used particle tracking methods to study the dynamics of individual balls comprising a granular flow in a small-angle two-dimensional funnel. We statistically analyze many ball trajectories to examine the mechanisms of shock propagation.

Weak Nuclear Divergence Despite Pronounced Mitochondrial Divergence Within a Widespread Desert‐Inhabiting Palearctic Lark (Aves: Alaudidae)

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 389-404, May 2026.
ABSTRACT The Bar‐tailed Lark Ammomanes cinctura is a polytypic bird species with a wide distribution. One of its three subspecies, A. c. arenicolor, has previously been found to show deep mitochondrial divergence between its geographically most distant populations, from Morocco and Saudi Arabia, respectively.

Algorithm of Optical Camera Communications Using Rolling-Shutter Effect

open access: yesThe Journal of Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences, 2016
Unlike conventional visible light communications (VLC) adopting photo detectors (PD), optical camera communications (OCC) employs cameras in detecting the transmitted data. Especially, the data rate of OCC can be enhanced by using the principle of rolling-shutter, which is the operating scheme of a CMOS image sensor.

Epi-illumination SPIM for volumetric imaging with high spatial-temporal resolution. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We designed an epi-illumination SPIM system that uses a single objective and has a sample interface identical to that of an inverted fluorescence microscope with no additional reflection elements.
