The scheme of the architectural representation process, and therefore its theoretical basis, is all enclosed, even today, in the famous passage written by Marcus Vitruvius Pollio, the Roman architect of the Augustan era, which takes up and fixes ...

A brigetiói üveggyártó műhely néhány jellemző üvegleletének műszeres analitikai vizsgálata [PDF]
The glass was produced by the same recipe all over the Roman Empire and its chemical composition varied in a narrow range. There is no consensus whether the base glass was produced in few centres and then distributed for further processing, or base ...

Here, recent progress is highlighted in colloidal magnetoplasmonic hybrid nanomaterials, with a focus on chiral plasmonics. Metal nanocrystals with intrinsic chiroptical features can lead to a combination of chiral plasmonics and magneto‐optics effects when interacting with the magnetic counterpart, offering a foundation for systematically designing ...

Mural Painting of a Roman Lady from Viminacium: From Roman Matron to the Modern Icon
During the late antiquity, fresco decorated tombs had a prominent place in funerary practice. All of the scenes and motifs within tombs are dedicated to the deceased persons and their apotheosis.

We demonstrate single‐layer titanium dioxide Janus metasurface holograms that achieve directionally asymmetric imaging under forward and backward illumination. By integrating the Dammann grating principle with precise phase control, our design produces high‐fidelity holographic images for arbitrary polarization states at 532 nm, simplifying fabrication,

PROJECT ÉVORA 3D: RESEARCH, METHODOLOGY, RECONSTRUCTION AND VISUALIZATION [PDF]
The Évora 3D project was born from the collaboration between the Municipality and the University of Évora, through the two research centres of CIDEHUS1 and CHAIA2, with the objective of completing a virtual reconstruction of the city in a longtime frame.

The Species Search Engine (KISSE) is a novel statistical approach for identifying species from collagen peptides, using a curated library of sequences and their relative abundances derived from shotgun proteomics. Abstract DNA and bone collagen are two key sources of resilient molecular markers used to identify species from their remains.

High‐Speed Design of Multiplexed Meta‐Optics Enabled by Physics‐Driven Self‐Supervised Network
A physics‐driven self‐supervised network (PDSS‐Net) is proposed for high‐speed, iteration‐free design of multiplexed meta‐optics. By learning a direct mapping from holographic targets to all meta‐atom structures, PDSS‐Net achieves a 1000× speedup over traditional optimization methods in designing 2K RGB meta‐holograms.

Chemically‐Disordered Transparent Conductive Perovskites With High Crystalline Fidelity
Kinetically arrested, chemically disordered perovskite thin films exhibit exquisite crystalline fidelity, broad IR–UV transparency, and low resistivity, despite incorporating five mismatched 3d–5d cations, including Cr and W. This study unites electronic correlation, cation diversity, valence complexity, and disorder—enabling new transparent conductors
