Gotovo sve ove posude možemo datirati u razdoblje od oko 260. do oko 400.g. Izuzetak čine neki ulomci s table 6 koji bi se mogli datirati i u kasnije razdoblje. Činjenica da se među više stotina ulomaka kasnoantičke grube keramike pronađene u Principiji nalaze samo četiri s valovnicom svjedoči o tome kako se ista ne pojavljuje prije 400.g.
