Uvod daje pregled istraženosti Silvanovog kulta u provincijama, dok problematika i metodologija obrazlaže podlogu ove disertacije, odnosno reljefne i natpisne spomenike. Na reljefima u Dalmaciji Silvan se prikazuje drukčije nego u Panoniji.
