Hormones and Behavior, 2017Oxytocin (OT) has been implicated in the formation and maintenance of various social relationships, including human romantic relationships. Competing models predict, alternatively, positive or negative associations between naturally-occurring OT levels and romantic relationship quality. Empirical tests of these models have been equivocal.

Cyclic Dynamics in Romantic Relationships
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1997Minimal models composed of two ordinary differential equations are considered in this paper to mimic the dynamics of the feelings between two persons. In accordance with attachment theory, individuals are divided into secure and non-secure individuals, and synergic and non-synergic individuals, for a total of four different classes.

Current Drug Abuse Reviewse, 2012The focus of this review is on the associations of alcohol use and aspects of romantic relationships. The review covers concepts and methods, partner drinking associations, effects of relationships on drinking, and drinking effects on relationships. Several conclusions were reached. People are attracted to similarly drinking others.
