Heat Load Mitigation Studies in the W7‐X Stellarator Experiment
ABSTRACT During the experiments at the stellarator Wendelstein 7‐X (W7‐X) with fully water‐cooled plasma‐facing components (PFC), including carbon‐fiber composite (CFC) divertor targets with a thermal load capability of 10 MW/m2, high performance was achieved.

Zebrafish ventral gastrula fate map reveals neural crest progenitor domain
Abstract Background Fate maps relate progenitor cell positions to later fates and locations of their progeny, revealing early embryonic organization. Previous zebrafish fate maps identified the origin of germ layers and derivative cell fates, but ventral gastrula progenitor domains were not fully resolved. In particular, the neural crest, a multipotent

Agile solar roof tile HVAC [PDF]
This paper studies the technical feasibility of a novel solar roof tile (SRT) to be used for HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) in buildings. The SRT utilizes a phase change material (PCM) for thermal storage.

Whole‐House Thermal Bridge Modelling for Accurate Retrofit Energy Prediction
This study models thermal bridging in a UK semi‐detached house across pre‐ and post‐retrofit scenarios using piecemeal and whole‐house approaches with EWI and IWI. Whole‐house retrofits reduce heat transfer coefficient by 60%; findings demonstrate that default values are often unrepresentative and advocate tailored Ψ value databases.

This study investigates the use of waste slate dust as a filler in recycled PET. Incorporating up to 20 wt% slate dust caused no filler‐induced molecular degradation, increased the crystallization temperature, thermal conductivity, and storage modulus. ABSTRACT Recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) is widely considered a sustainable alternative to

CLAY ROOFING TILE: A COOL ROOF?
The aim of this study is to determine if the clay roofing tile in its natural albedo can be considered “cool†in the thermal performance through a comparison of its surface temperature to a cool coated clay tile using the exposure rack method. It begins with highlighting the expectation (from review) of the thermal performance of a cool colored ...
