Chemical and photochemical properties of chloroharmine derivatives in aqueous solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Thermal and photochemical stability (ΦR), room temperature UV-vis absorption and fluorescence spectra, fluorescence quantum yields (ΦF) and lifetimes (τF), quantum yields of hydrogen peroxide (ΦH2O2) and singlet oxygen (ΦΔ) production, and triplet ...

Light‐Responsive Carbon Dots with Photochromism and Excitation‐Dependent Room Temperature Phosphorescence

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
A light‐responsive system with photochromism and excitation‐dependent phosphorescence was constructed by microwave synthesis of nitrogen‐doped carbon dots(N‐CDs), which provides insights into the design and synthesis of CDs with multifunctional optical properties, promoting the application expansion of intelligent responsive materials in the fields of ...

Tuneable Singlet Exciton Fission and Triplet-Triplet Annihilation in an Orthogonal Pentacene Dimer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Fast and highly efficient intramolecular singlet exciton fission in a pentacene dimer, consisting of two covalently attached, nearly orthogonal pentacene units is reported. Fission to triplet excitons from this ground state geometry occurs within 1 ps in

Distinct Ligand‐ and Metal‐Centered Phosphorescence in a Terbium Carbazolyl Complex

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Terbium and lanthanum carbazolide complexes show two distinct modes of luminescence: Strongly temperature‐dependent narrow‐line terbium emission could be induced. In addition, both the terbium and the lanthanum complexes show broad‐line interligand emission processes with excited states of microsecond life‐time.

Self‐Assembled Luminescent Au(I)–Adamantylamine Coordination Polymer Needles With Thermoresponsive Optical Properties

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A self‐assembled hydrophobic and red phosphorescent Au(I) coordination polymer (CP) was synthesized under mild conditions. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (XRD) demonstrated linear Au(I) chains stabilized by aurophilic and hydrogen bonding interactions.

Influence of geometry on the emitting properties of 2,3-naphthalimides [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The luminescence properties of 2,3-naphthalimides have been studied using picosecond and nanosecond spectroscopies. In acetonitrile solution N-phenyl-2,3-naphthalimid(e3 ) is found to emit dual fluorescence with emission maxima at 385 and 490 nm ...

Preparation and Functionalized Applications of Matrix-assisted Phosphorescent Carbon Dots

open access: yesTaiyuan Ligong Daxue xuebao
[Purposes] Room temperature phosphorescent carbon dots (CDs), as a new type of room temperature phosphorescent material, have attracted considerable attention owing to their excellent optical properties, high stability, and low toxicity. In recent years,

A review of mechanoluminescence in inorganic solids : compounds, mechanisms, models and applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Mechanoluminescence (ML) is the non-thermal emission of light as a response to mechanical stimuli on a solid material. While this phenomenon has been observed for a long time when breaking certain materials, it is now being extensively explored ...

Bond and Antibond Resonances: A Unified Framework for Singlet Biradical Character

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The electronic structure of a variety of singlet biradicaloids may be described in the Lewis picture using single antibonds as the central bonding motif. In conjunction with a consistent set of biradical indicators, we can resolve some long‐standing disputes over the biradical character of molecules such as O3 and S2N2.

Iridium complex, a phosphorescent light-emitting diode material, serves as a novel chemical probe for imaging hypoxic tumor tissues [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Iridium complex, a promising organic light-emitting diode for next generation television displays, emits phosphorescence. Phosphorescence is quenched by oxygen. We used this oxygen-quenching feature for imaging tumor hypoxia.
