Enabling Aqueous Phase Long‐lived Deep‐blue Phosphorescence With Layered Double Hydroxide

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Aqueous‐phase phosphors are of utmost importance for a myriad of applications. However, the emission wavelengths of the current aqueous organic room‐temperature phosphorescent (RTP) materials are limited to green and red bands, while the blue part is ...

Inter‐/Intramolecular π‐Stacking in a Benzannulated NCN‐Coordinated Pd(II) Monomer and Dimer Pair: Synthesis, Structure, and Photophysics

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
A cyclometalallated palladium complex and its acetate‐bridged dinuclear analogue, both supported by 1,3‐bis(2‐quinolinyl)benzene ligands, are described. The mononuclear (but not the dinuclear) complex is weakly phosphorescent in the deep red region of the spectrum in solution at room temperature, and both compounds phosphoresce in frozen media at 77 K ...

Tuning the Photochemistry of Entatic State Model Systems

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
We present the photochemistry of the entatic state model [Cu(DMEGqu)2]+/2+, a copper guanidino‐quinoline complex pair. By transient IR and UV/Vis spectroscopy, we obtained the lifetimes of the different excited states. We show that the structural effect of the guanidine tunes the photochemistry of this entatic state model.

The investigation of interactions in the excited state of flavins using time-resolved spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes
In paper I the results obtained with a very short (3 nsec) intense laser pulse as excitation source are described. This pulse excites such a large amount of flavin molecules into higher excited singlet and triplet states that changes in absorption of ...

Alloxazine derivatives as multifunctional agents for photodynamic therapy, cancer cell imaging, and cell proliferation inhibition

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Alloxazine photosensitizers, molecularly engineered through sugar conjugation and methoxy substitution to enhance solubility, photodynamic potency, and fluorescence, enable image‐guided photodynamic therapy while inhibiting cancer cell growth in the absence of photoactivation.

Exciton coupling in molecular crystals [PDF]

open access: yes
The implications of perfect exciton coupling and molecular vibrations were investigated, as well as the effect they have on the lifetime of singlet and triplet excitons coupled in a limiting geometry. Crystalline bibenzyl, Cl4Hl4, provided a situation in

Intramolecular Charge‐Transfer Dopants Enable Isolated Triplet Excitons as Spin Qutrits in a Single Crystal

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 17, 20 April 2026.
Photoexcitation of an intramolecular charge‐transfer molecule doped into single crystals of a structurally similar host molecule results in well‐ordered, spectrally addressable, and orientation‐tunable triplet excitons that maintain coherence at elevated temperatures.

Improving Moist‐Electric Generator Stability and Performance by Enhancing Interfacial Activity With Crosslinked Aminated Carbon Dots

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 3, May 2026.
A high‐performance moisture‐enabled electricity generation (MEG) device with amino‐functionalized carbon dots on flexible fabric via thermal crosslinking is presented. The thermal crosslinking strategy enhances adhesion, removes inert groups, and suppresses carbon dots migration, boosting voltage (0.90 V vs. 0.56 V) and stability over 120 h.
