The Roosevelt positive is bounded on the south by the petroliferous Northwest Shelf province; the Tucumcari basin lies to the north. The current Fusselman-Cisco play was ignited in June 1978, by discovery of South Peterson-Fusselman field by Enserch in T5S, R33E. The discovery well had produced over 560,000 bbl of oil to January 1, 1984.

Some H5 ordinary chondrite meteorites recovered from the desert region of Roosevelt County in New Mexico, USA and14C dated to determine the terrestrial age have been examined by57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy. The preliminary results suggest the increasing oxidation of Fe0 in the iron-nickel alloy phase and of Fe2+ in the iron-sulphide and -silicate phases

Peterson and South Peterson Multipay Fields, Roosevelt County, New Mexico: ABSTRACT

The Peterson and South Peterson fields, located on the northside of the generally east-west-trending Matador arch in southern Roosevelt County, New Mexico, are on relatively small structural features separated by dry holes. Both fields produce from the Middle Silurian Fusselman carbonate and from bedded Upper Pennsylvanian limestone.

Geology and geothermal potential of the Roosevelt Hot Springs area, Beaver County, Utah

The Roosevelt area contains Roosevelt Hot Springs, one of two known Geothermal Resource Areas in Utah. The Roosevelt area is located on the western flank of the Mineral Range in Beaver County. Precambrian(?) metamorphic rocks and Tertiary igneous rocks crop out in the eastern part of the Roosevelt area.
