Effects of the Flexogates and Canal Master U on root canal configuration in simulated curved canals
International Endodontic Journal, 1994SummaryThe purpose of this study was to compare the Canal Master U (CMU) instrumentation technique with that of a similar instrument, the Flexogates (FG).Forty simulated curved canals were divided in two groups of 20 each. One group was prepared using the CMU instrumentation technique and the other using the FG technique.

Root canal treatment of a maxillary second premolar with Type VI canal configuration
Saudi Endodontic Journal, 2020The roots and canals of maxillary second premolar have several typical anatomical features, as well as a great number of anomalies. The awareness toward atypical anatomy can be a critical factor in determining the success of endodontic therapy. This case report of 32-year-old healthy female patient describes the successful endodontic therapy of a left ...

The effects of Canal Master, Flex-R, and K-Flex instrumentation on root canal configuration
Journal of Endodontics, 1991The purpose of this study was to compare the Canal Master instrument and instrumentation technique (CM/CMI) to Flex-R files used with a "balanced force" technique (FR/BF) and K-Flex files used with a step-back filing technique (KF/SB). Thirty-six root canals in extracted human mandibular molars were equally divided into three groups.

Canal number and configuration are predictors of external root morphology
2022Abstract Within tooth roots canals can vary in shape and configuration, and it is not uncommon for a single root to contain multiple canals. Externally, root morphology also varies, though the range of variation, and its relation to canals remains little explored.

AbstractAim To investigate the root and canal morphology of mandibular permanent teeth collected from an indigenous Turkish population.Methodology A total of 1400 extracted mandibular permanent teeth were evaluated. The teeth were divided into seven groups as central incisors, lateral incisors, canines, first premolars, second premolars, first molars

Canal configuration in the mesiobuccal root of the maxillary first molar: A clinical study
Journal of Endodontics, 1994Surgical telescopes, headlamps, and a modified access preparation were used clinically to aid in the search for mesiolingual canals in the mesiobuccal roots of 208 maxillary first molars. In 148 (71.2%) of the mesiobuccal roots two canals were located and treated. Of these, 66 (31.7%) had two separate apical foramina (Weine Type III) and 82 (39.4%) had

C‐shaped root canal configuration in maxillary first molars
International Endodontic Journal, 2002AbstractAim This clinical report presents the endodontic treatment of two maxillary first molars and the anatomical study of two additional maxillary first molars with a C‐shaped distally located root canal system. This configuration is not a common finding.Summary According to the endodontic literature, the C‐shaped root canal is most frequently seen ...

Abstract The mesiobuccal roots of 208 teeth were sectioned buccolingually from the mesial aspect and the canal configurations were categorized. One hundred one (48.5 per cent) had a single canal, 78 (or 37.5 per cent) showed two canals which merged toward a single apical foramen, and twenty-nine (14.0 per cent) displayed two distinct canals with ...

Detailed information of complex anatomical configuration of mesiobuccal (MB) root is essential for successful endodontic treatment in maxillary first molars. The aims of this study were to investigate the configuration types present in multiple-canalled MB roots of maxillary first molars using micro-computed tomography (μCT) and to evaluate whether ...
