Retrievability of Bioceramic Sealers Assessed using Micro-computed Tomography and Scanning Electron Microscopy: A Literature Review [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
Endodontic retreatment is a procedure to remove root canal filling material from the tooth, followed by cleaning, shaping, and obturation of the canals. Treatment outcomes may be influenced by incomplete removal of filling materials.

Fully Printed Variable Orifice Flowmeter with Built‐In Temperature Compensation for Application in Mechanical Ventilation

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing, specifically fused deposition modeling, offers an innovative approach to creating 3D‐printed variable orifice flowmeters with integrated temperature compensation. Using carbon‐black TPU, the primary component (a variable orifice) and the secondary element (a diaphragm pressure sensor) are fabricated.

Delayed tooth replantation: MTA as root canal filling [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Oral Research, 2014
MTA has been investigated as a root-end filling material. Its mechanism of action has some similarities to that of Ca(OH)2. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the repair process taking place in the delayed replantation of monkey teeth using calcium hydroxide and MTA as root canal filling materials.

ROOT I/O compression improvements for HEP analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
We overview recent changes in the ROOT I/O system, increasing performance and enhancing it and improving its interaction with other data analysis ecosystems. Both the newly introduced compression algorithms, the much faster bulk I/O data path, and a few additional techniques have the potential to significantly to improve experiment's software ...

Emerging Therapeutic Strategies for Hearing Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Challenges still exist in treating hearing loss in cases of severe damage to hair cells or spiral ganglion neurons. Here, a schematic diagram of cochlear sensory hair cells and auditory nerves is presented. It is found that in normal Corti organs, hair cells have upright stereocilia at the top and auditory neurons at the base. Ototoxic drugs, noise, or

Exploration of Half‐Cycle Length of Converging Circular Wavy Duct with Diverging‐Outlet: Turbulent Water Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
Increasing half‐cycles intensifies turbulence due to enhanced vortex interactions and flow separation at the diverged‐outlets. Longer wavy ducts are shown to increase flow acceleration, resulting in greater output velocities and more turbulent‐kinetic‐energy production. Wave‐period plays a crucial role in determining turbulent intensity, with amplitude

Nuclear and partonic dynamics in the EMC effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
It has been recently confirmed that the magnitude of the EMC effect measured in electron deep inelastic scattering is linearly related to the Short Range Correlation scaling factor obtained from electron inclusive scattering. By using a $x$-rescaling approach we are able to understand the interplay between the quark-gluon and hadronic degrees of ...

A Convoy of Magnetic Millirobots Transports Endoscopic Instruments for Minimally‐Invasive Surgery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The first electrocautery procedure performed by a team of millirobots (TrainBots) is presented. Enhanced with optimized feet, millirobots form a convoy to facilitate the collaborative transportation of wires and catheters through biological lumens, e.g. bile ducts. It opens up the possibility of using a team of mini‐robots in future endoscopic surgery.

Иммуногистохимический и морфометрический анализ слизистой оболочки верхнечелюстной пазухи при выведении пломбировочных материалов в полость синуса

open access: yesЭндодонтия Today, 2020
By means of light microscopy, immunohistochemistry and morphometry it is established, that at odontogenic sinusitis caused by deducing root canal filling material, develop considerable changes in epithelial layer and stroma.

A Low-complexity Brain-computer Interface for High-complexity Robot Swarm Control [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
A brain-computer interface (BCI) is a system that allows a human operator to use only mental commands in controlling end effectors that interact with the world around them. Such a system consists of a measurement device to record the human user's brain activity, which is then processed into commands that drive a system end effector. BCIs involve either
