Leveraging Multi‐Isotope Systems to Investigate Conflict, Food Insecurity, and Elevated Nitrogen Isotope Values in the Nazca Highlands of Peru During the Late Intermediate Period (1000–1450 CE)

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 191, Issue 3, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives The physical effects of interpersonal violence are well documented in archaeology, but its broader impacts on population health, mobility, and resource access remain less understood. This article assesses how chronic warfare restricted movement and access to critical resources, altering dietary practices and contributing to ...

Complications and Clinical Outcomes Following Modified Endoscopic Denker's With Pyriform Aperture Preservation: A Prospective Analysis

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, Volume 16, Issue 11, Page 1260-1268, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The modified endoscopic Denker's (MED) approach provides access to all maxillary sinus (MS) walls for resection of various MS and retromaxillary pathologies, but the anteromedial maxilla has historically been resected. This study determined complication rates and outcomes following MED with pyriform aperture (PA) preservation ...

Resource Availability Shaped the Female‐Biased Floral Sex Allocation With Plant Size in Andromonoecious Capparis spinosa in Desert

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 11, November 2026.
This study investigates how resource availability drives size‐dependent sex allocation in the andromonoecious desert plant Capparis spinosa. Through field surveys across nine populations and two‐year resource manipulation experiments (water–nutrient supplementation and pruning), we demonstrate that larger plants produce a higher proportion of ...

Clinical outcomes of a novel flowable calcium silicate cement in equine endodontic treatment

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 58, Issue 6, Page 1602-1611, November 2026.
Abstract Background Orthograde endodontic treatment of equine cheek teeth is performed infrequently with variable success rates of obturation with calcium hydroxide paste (CHP). A novel flowable calcium silicate cement (eCSC) formulated for use as an obturation material in equine teeth has demonstrated acceptable canal filling volumes and evidence of ...

Effectiveness of the lake Okeechobee Basin Management Action Plan in reducing phosphorus loading: A 25‐year assessment of watershed sources, nutrient retention, and management outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, Volume 55, Issue 6, November/December 2026.
Abstract Lake Okeechobee, the largest freshwater lake in the southeastern United States, has experienced chronic eutrophication driven by excessive phosphorus (P) loading from its 14,000‐km2 watershed. A total maximum daily load (TMDL) of 140 metric tons per year (t year−1) for total P (TP) was established, and the Basin Management Action Plan (BMAP ...
