The Effect of MTAD on the Coronal Leakage of Obturated Root Canals

Journal of Endodontics, 2004
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of smear-layer removal using MTAD on coronal leakage of obturated root canals using a dye-leakage test. Fifty, extracted, single-rooted, human teeth were cleaned and shaped and divided into 5 equal groups of 10 each. The smear layer in groups 1 to 3 was left intact.

Obturation of root canals in vivo with a new vacuum technique

Journal of Endodontics, 1997
It was demonstrated in vitro that it is possible to achieve obturation of the root canal system with a system utilizing a reduced pressure of 15 hPa (15 mbar). The purpose of this study was to develop a procedure to reach a vacuum of at least 15 hPa within root canals in vivo.

The use of Silastic as an injectable root canal obturating material

Journal of Endodontics, 1980
Twenty-eight extracted human anterior teeth were obturated with a Silastic mixture with use of a disposable syringe. Autoradiographic studies using S 35 showed that the leakage was not statistically different from that found in seven control teeth obturated with gutta-percha and ProcoSol sealers.

Evaluation of the Quality of Four Root Canal Obturation Techniques Using Micro-Computed Tomography

Iranian endodontic journal, 2013
Introduction One of the key factors in successful endodontic therapy is to adequately fill the root canals. The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the quality of four different root canal obturation techniques: cold lateral condensation (CLC ...

Efficacy and retrievability of root canal filling using calcium silicate-based and epoxy resin-based root canal sealers with matched obturation techniques.

Australian Endodontic Journal, 2019
This study aimed to compare the efficiency of root canal filling procedures and the retrievability of the filling material with various sealers. Forty-three patients assigned to endodontic treatment with (i) continuous wave of condensation technique (CTW)

Thermographic assessment of root canal obturation using thermomechanical compaction

International Endodontic Journal, 1997
SummaryThe temperature changes on the root surface of 30 extracted human premolar teeth during thermomechanical root canal obturation with gutta‐percha were determined using an infrared thermal imaging camera. Three handpiece rotational speeds of 8, 12 and 16 × 103 r.p.m. were used, in conjunction with a Gutta Condensor. On completion of the procedure,

Assessment of the Sealing Ability of a New Root Canal Obturation Material

Journal of Endodontics, 2006
This study was designed to compare the leakage allowed by different obturation materials, using a fluid-transport method. Sixty-six single-rooted human anterior teeth were fully instrumented by using the "step-back" technique and irrigated with 5.25% sodium hypochlorite. The smear layer was removed by washing in 10 ml of 17% EDTA.

Effects of different root canal obturation techniques on bacterial penetration

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 2006
The aim of this study was to compare bacterial penetration following obturation with 5 different techniques. This study was performed on 120 teeth including negative control (n = 10), positive control (n = 10), and experimental groups (n = 100). One hundred teeth were randomly divided into 5 groups of 20 teeth each and obturated with System B (Sb ...
