The effect of root resection on the sealing property of root canal obturations

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1980
Root canal systems of extracted anterior teeth were obturated with sealer and either multiple gutta-percha cones or single silver cones. The effect of root resection on the sealing property of these obturating materials was evaluated by autoradiographic methods.

Comparison of conventional root canal obturation techniques with thermafil obturators

Journal of Endodontics, 1992
This study compared microleakage of Thermafil Obturators to the single cone technique in Lexan blocks simulating root canals (n = 20) stained with Prussian blue dye. The microleakage of Thermafil and laterally condensed extracted human teeth was also investigated after the teeth were stained with India ink or Prussian blue dye over 1- or 2-wk dye ...

Root Canal Obturation using Thermafil® Endodontic Obturators in Dog Teeth

Journal of Veterinary Dentistry, 1992
The technique of using Thermafil® endodontic obturators to fill root canals in dog teeth is discussed in detail. Stainless steel carriers coated with gutta-percha were heated and inserted in instrumented canals of dog teeth. The ease of the technique is discussed and obturation efficacy is evaluated. No perfect apical seal was achieved.

Evaluation of Different Root Canal Obturation Methods in Primary Teeth Using Cone Beam Computerized Tomography.

Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry, 2015
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficiency of 3 different obturation techniques; motor driven lentulospiral, hand held lentulospiral and reamer in primary anterior teeth and presence of voids by analyzing with CBCT.

Comparison of dentin penetration ability of different root canal sealers used with different obturation methods

Microscopy research and technique (Print), 2020
This in vitro study aimed to investigate the tubular penetration depth of four different sealers used with two different obturation methods in the apical, middle, and coronal root canal dentin.

The imaging of root canal obturation using micro‐CT

International Endodontic Journal, 2005
AbstractAim  To examine the potential and accuracy of micro‐computed tomography (micro‐CT) for imaging of filled root canals.Methodology  The root canals of five extracted maxillary teeth were shaped manually with K‐files. After irrigation and drying, the root canals were filled by lateral condensation using gutta‐percha cones and AH plus (Dentsply ...

Obturation of Root Canals

2016
The root filling is the final leg of the endodontic triad of instrumentation, disinfection, and obturation. The purpose of treatment (prevention or cure of apical periodontitis) is served by the functions of the obturation (sealing, killing microbes, and filling the space), which depend on some properties of the materials.

Re-treatment of dowel-obturated root canals

The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1968
A redesigned instrument for dowel removal facilitates endodontic treatment by the reduction of needless m utilation and the prevention of patchwork endodontics. A report of a case in which satisfactory results were obtained is included.
