Assessment of the Sealing Ability of a New Root Canal Obturation Material
Journal of Endodontics, 2006This study was designed to compare the leakage allowed by different obturation materials, using a fluid-transport method. Sixty-six single-rooted human anterior teeth were fully instrumented by using the "step-back" technique and irrigated with 5.25% sodium hypochlorite. The smear layer was removed by washing in 10 ml of 17% EDTA.

Effects of different root canal obturation techniques on bacterial penetration
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Endodontology, 2006The aim of this study was to compare bacterial penetration following obturation with 5 different techniques. This study was performed on 120 teeth including negative control (n = 10), positive control (n = 10), and experimental groups (n = 100). One hundred teeth were randomly divided into 5 groups of 20 teeth each and obturated with System B (Sb ...

Evaluation of standardized root canal instruments and obturating points
Journal of Endodontics, 1979Standardized Kerr root canal reamers, Hedstroem files, and obturating points were selected from seven manufacturers to discover whether their diameter, taper, and blade length conformed to the specifications given by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Obturation of root canals by the standardized and step back techniques
Dental Traumatology, 1987Abstract The objective of this study was to assess undergraduate students' ability to obturate the apical third of the root canal of human maxillary incisors using the standardized technique and the step back technique as taught in the undergraduate curriculum.

Obturation of the Root Canal System: An Online Study Guide
Journal of Endodontics, 2008The Editorial Board of the Journal of Endodontics has developed a literature-based study guide of topical areas related to endodontics. This study guide is intended to give the reader a focused review of the essential endodontic literature and does not cite all possible articles related to each topic. Although citing all articles would be comprehensive,

Internal Tooth Anatomy and Root Canal Obturation
2018The ultimate objective of the root canal therapy is the three-dimensional obturation of the endodontic space after it has been completely cleaned, shaped, and disinfected. The purpose of obturation is to seal all “portals of exit” to impede any sort of communication or exchange between the endodontium and periodontium.
