Cyclin‐dependent kinase 13 is indispensable for normal mouse heart development

Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most common defect in live births. The role of cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK13) in cardiogenesis and CHD was studied using a transgenic mouse model (Cdk13tm1b) carrying deletion of exons 3 and 4, causing loss of function.

A Meta‐Analysis of the Effects of Acute Sleep Deprivation on the Cortical Transcriptome in Rodent Models

We performed a meta‐analysis of publicly available transcriptional profiling datasets characterising the effects of sleep deprivation on cortical gene expression (n = 293 mice, 16,290 genes) and validated our results in an independent sample (n = 222 mice).

Possible involvement of keratinocyte‐derived microvesicle particles in human photosensitivity disorders

In this model, ROS generated by UVB result in PAFR agonists acting upon the PAFR resulting in MVP generation release via the enzyme aSMase. In photosensitivity, there are increased ROS, resulting in augmented PAF agonists and increased MVP release. This process can be blocked by aSMase inhibitors.

Transcriptional benchmark dose modeling of ultraviolet radiation‐induced genomic activation in mouse skin

Exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UV‐R) from tanning equipment increases skin cancer risk through molecular changes, but genomic thresholds remain unclear. Using mice, we examined dose‐ and time‐dependent gene expression after erythemally‐weighted UV‐R doses (0–40 mJ/cm2).
