Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

Alloderm for Root Coverage: A Case Report [PDF]

open access: yesDental Journal of Advance Studies, 2014
AbstractThe main indication for root coverage procedures is esthetic or cosmetic demand by the patient. Root coverage procedures mainly include use of pedicle soft tissue grafts or free autogenous grafts. Recently acellular dermal matrix allograft has been introduced as a substitute for donor tissue in gingival augmentation procedures.

Root coverage techniques for gum recession

open access: yesHellenic Archives of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, 2022
INTRODUCTION: Gingival recession, also known as receding gums, is the exposure in the roots of the teeth caused by a loss of gum tissue and/or retraction of the gingival margin from the crown of the teeth. The aetiology of the condition is multifactorial but is commonly associated with underlying alveolar morphology, tooth brushing, mechanical trauma ...

Root developmental responses to heterogeneous water and nitrogen supply [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Better understanding of the interaction between the soil physical properties determining water and nitrate availability and the root proliferation and gene expression components of nutrient acquisition could contribute to food security, but may have been

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

The effect of laterally positioned flap-revised technique and 24% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid root conditioning on root coverage: A case report

open access: yesSaudi Dental Journal, 2014
Complete root coverage is considered the true goal of treatment of gingival recession defects because only complete coverage assures recovery from the hypersensitivity and esthetic defects associated with recession areas. Previous studies have shown that

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Microsurgical treatment of gingival cleft accompanied by gingival recession

open access: yesInternational Dental Journal
Introduction: This case reported the treatment of the maxillary premolars with gingival cleft and gingival recession. Coronally advanced flap combined with connective tissue graft technique using the microsurgical approach showed satisfactory root ...

Treatment of lingual gingival recession on mandibular lateral incisor using minimally invasive full-thickness tunneling technique and subepithelial palatal connective tissue graft

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Periodontology, 2021
Gingival recession on the lingual aspect of teeth may cause dentinal hypersensitivity problems in patients. Treatment of such recessions is not a regular procedure owing to its anatomical restraints, difficulty in isolation as well as lack of esthetic ...

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.
