Correlation of Root Dentin Thickness and Length of Roots in Mesial Roots of Mandibular Molars

Journal of Endodontics, 2014
The purpose of this study was to analyze the relation of tooth length and distal wall thickness of mesial roots in mandibular molars at different locations (ie, 2 mm below the furcation and at the junction between the middle and apical third).Forty-five mandibular first molars were taken, and the length of each tooth was measured.

The mysterious root length

Plant and Soil, 2006
reflecting the difficulty in extracting fine roots from the soil, and the enormous length these roots can attain. For example, Dittmer (1937) excavated the entire root system of a single rye plant, which consisted of 13,815,672 branches and had a total length of 622 km with a surface area of 237 m, and a total root hair length of 11,000 km. Since then,

Kiwifruit root systems 1. Root‐length densities

New Zealand Journal of Crop and Horticultural Science, 1988
Abstract Root‐length densities (RLD; root length per unit volume of soil) were measured in core samples taken from nine North Island kiwifruit orchards. Despite differences in vine spacings, root‐stock ages and types, soils, climates, and management, there was a consistent pattern to root systems.

Interspecific interactions alter root length density, root diameter and specific root length in jujube/wheat agroforestry systems

Agroforestry Systems, 2014
A field study was conducted at Hetian, southern Xinjiang, northwest China, to investigate root morphology as affected by interspecific interactions between jujube (Ziziphus jujuba Mill.) and wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). The treatments comprised (1) sole wheat, (2) 3-, 5- and 7-year-old sole jujube trees, and (3) intercropping of wheat/3-, 5- and 7 ...

Length of life of grass roots

Grass and Forage Science, 1981
AbstractThe length of life of the root axes of a plant was taken as the interval between the prevention of the plant from producing any further axes and the death of the shoot. Of the cultivated species studied Lolium perenne had the shortest lived roots and Dactylis glomerata the longest with Phleum pratense, Festuca arundinacea, F.

Electrical impedance measurements of root canal length

Dental Traumatology, 1997
Abstract Electronic methods are now widely used during endodontic treatment for the assessment of root canal length. These commonly measure the electrical resistance or impedance between the root canal and the buccal mucosa. A number of studies have been undertaken to determine the accuracy of commercially available instruments.

[Distribution patterns of Fraxinus mandshurica root biomass, specific root length and root length density].

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2006
Employing soil core method, an investigation in Maoershan Experiment Station was made on the root biomass, specific root length (SRL), and root length density (RLD) of Fraxinus mandshurica plantation (17 yr) within a growth season in stand level. The results showed that the total root biomass was 1,637 g x m(-2), in which, living biomass accounted for ...

[Effects of fertilization on fine root diameter, root length and specific root length in Larix kaempferi plantation].

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2007
With 16 years old Larix kaempfersoil plantation in the mountainous area of eastern Liaoning Province as test object, this paper studied the effects of fertilization on the fine root diameter, root length, and specific root length (SRL) of the first to fifth order roots. The results showed that with ascending root orders, the mean fine root diameter and

Complete control of root length preparation in endodontics

The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1967
Without a stop to control the depth of pene tration of the root canal file in the canal dur ing endodontic treatment, periapical irritation and an overfilled canal that may not be her metically sealed may result. The new stop discussed in this paper and the new point of reference, the floor of the pulp chamber, en able the dentist to use ...
