Evaluation of subjective discomfort of the seated human body exposed to vertical vibration using dynamic body pressure

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2023
Pressure distribution has been regarded as a crucial parameter for static comfort evaluation of the seated human body. However, the association between the pressure distribution and subjective rating, exposed to vertical vibration, is still unclear. This

Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Wavelet-Based Denoising Of Images [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2019
Wavelet-analysis has become a powerful tool for denoising images. It represents a new way to achieve better noise reduction and increased contrast. Here, experimentally demonstrate abilities of discrete wavelet transform with Daubechies basis functions ...

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Incompressible viscous flow near the leading edge of a flat plate admitting slip [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
The shear stress at the leading edge, calculated on basis of the Navier-Stokes equations and the no-slip boundary condition, approaches infinity. However, taking into account the mean free path of the molecules, which implies admitting a certain slip ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Ab initio no-core solutions for $^6$Li

open access: yes, 2016
We solve for properties of $^6$Li in the ab initio No-Core Full Configuration approach and we separately solve for its ground state and $J^{\pi}=2_{2}^{+}$ resonance with the Gamow Shell Model in the Berggren basis.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Vibrations in CDFW

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
Continuous drive friction welding is a solid-state welding process that has been experimentally proven to be a fast and reliable method. This is a complex process; deformations in the viscosity of a material alter the friction between the surfaces of the

Numerical simulation of flow past a cylinder in orbital motion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A finite difference solution is presented for 2D laminar unsteady flow around a circular cylinder in orbital motion placed in a uniform flow for Re = 130, 160, and 180. Four cases displaying full lock-in are presented.
