Cool Kitchen: Processing Starch and Eggshell Powder into Sustainable Coatings for Passive Daytime Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A food‐grade cooling composite made from starch and recycled eggshell powder offers a scalable, ultra‐low‐cost solution for passive daytime radiative cooling. Easily prepared using basic kitchen tools, this material empowers communities, even in areas with limited infrastructure, to stay cooler during worsening summer heat waves.

Root properties of morphological filters

Signal Processing, 1993
Abstract The characterization of the root signal sets of the most common digital morphological filters is presented in this paper. This has proven very crucial in understandinng the utility and usefulness of these nonlinear operators. Important deterministic properties of root signals of morphological opening, closing, open-closing and clos-opening ...

Root canal morphology of mandibular incisors

Journal of Endodontics, 1992
In this study, 100 mandibular central and lateral incisors were used to determine the number of root canals and their types, the ramifications of the root canal, the location of apical foramina, and the frequency of apical deltas. The teeth were immersed in India ink, decalcified, and cleared.

Root and canal morphology of maxillary premolars and their relationship with the crown morphology

Journal of Oral Biosciences, 2022
To investigate the relationship between crown/root size and root/canal morphology of maxillary premolars. One hundred and thirty-three first (P1) and 110 second (P2) maxillary premolars were used. Mesiodistal and buccolingual diameters and root heights of P1 and P2 were recorded to the nearest 0.01 mm. The number of single and multi-rooted premolars was

Root Morphology

2018
Root system defined as the Hidden Half of plant, has not attracted a great deal of attention for a long time from plant biologists. In recent years, through the new innovative techniques, root system has been deeply studied allowing all to reveal its structure, function, but also its genetic potential, which could be manipulated to improve crop yield ...

Identification of root morphology mutants in barley

Plant Genetic Resources, 2011
In this study, a forward-genetics analysis was performed on a portion of TILLMore, a chemically mutagenized population of barley cv. ‘Morex’ (http://www.distagenomics.unibo.it/TILLMore/), to identify root morphology alterations by comparison with ‘Morex’ wild-type.

Root morphology and development

Journal of Plant Nutrition, 1992
Abstract Roots have been intensively studied for over one hundred years, and yet little is really known of their morphology and development in vivo. Increasing evidence suggests that there are five or more types of roots, each with distinct genetic, developmental, and physiological characteristics.

Morphology of cochlear root neurons in the rat

Journal of Neurocytology, 1988
The morphology of large neurons in the cochlear nerve root of albino rat has been studied with a variety of techniques including Nissl and cell-myelin staining, Golgi impregnation, horseradish peroxidase back-filling of severed axons, transmission electron microscopy, and morphometry.
