Effects of warming and parasitism on root traits and the root economics space

open access: yesFunctional Ecology
Abstract Plants infected by parasitic species might be further stressed by climate warming as both factors can influence the host plant's nutrient acquisition and growth. The root economics space, defined by root functional traits, reflects a plant's nutrient acquisition strategy.

Roots of Toeplitz operators on the Bergman space [PDF]

open access: yesPacific Journal of Mathematics, 2011
One of the major questions in the theory of Toeplitz operators on the Bergman space over the unit disk $\mathbb D$ in the complex plane $\mathbb C$ is a complete description of the commutant of a given Toeplitz operator, that is the set of all Toeplitz operators that commute with it.

On split involutive regular BiHom-Lie superalgebras

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2020
The goal of this paper is to examine the structure of split involutive regular BiHom-Lie superalgebras, which can be viewed as the natural generalization of split involutive regular Hom-Lie algebras and split regular BiHom-Lie superalgebras.

Root Locii for Systems Defined on Hilbert Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2016
The root locus is an important tool for analysing the stability and time constants of linear finite-dimensional systems as a parameter, often the gain, is varied. However, many systems are modelled by partial differential equations or delay equations.

Root shadow spaces

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Combinatorics, 2007
A root shadow space is the point-line truncation of the \(J\)-Grassmannian of a spherical building, where \(J\) is the type of the set of nodes corresponding to the fundamental roots not perpendicular to the longest root. In the paper under review, the authors characterize these geometries (except when the root shadow space is a polar space) using the ...

Roots and polynomials as Homeomorphic spaces

open access: yesExpositiones Mathematicae, 2006
We provide a unified, elementary, topological approach to the classical results stating the continuity of the complex roots of a polynomial with respect to its coefficients, and the continuity of the coefficients with respect to the roots. In fact, endowing the space of monic polynomials of a fixed degree $n$ and the space of $n$ roots with suitable ...

On split Lie color triple systems

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2019
In order to begin an approach to the structure of arbitrary Lie color triple systems, (with no restrictions neither on the dimension nor on the base field), we introduce the class of split Lie color triple systems as the natural generalization of split ...

Roots and Root Spaces of Compact Banach-Lie Algebras

open access: yesIrish Mathematical Society Bulletin, 2002
Summary: We study the main properties of roots and root spaces associated to a Cartan subalgebra of a compact Banach-Lie algebra. As a consequence, we describe the topologically simple compact Banach-Lie algebras having a Cartan decomposition relative to some Cartan subalgebra.

About the geometrical properties of the root condition for the third order polynomials

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 1999
This paper deals with a root condition for polynomial of the second and third order. We prove the root criterion for such polynomial with complex coefficients and find regions for the root condition in the special coefficients' phase space.
