Microbiology of Root Surface Caries in Humans

Journal of Dental Research, 1990
Studies on the microbiology of root surface caries between 1970 and 1975 placed emphasis on Gram-positive pleomorphic filamentous rods, particularly Actinomyces viscosus and Actinomyces naeslundii. Both of these species had been shown to produce root surface caries in experimental animals.

[Root surface biocompatibility].

Revista dental de Chile, 1990
The optimal result of periodontal therapy is the regeneration of tissues previously destroyed by periodontal disease. Root surface caries: a recurrent dilemma*

Australian Dental Journal, 1986

[Root surface instrumentation].

Parodontologie (Berlin, Germany), 1991
The present status of root surface debridement is reviewed. Recently it was shown that the influence of root surface roughness and endotoxin-contaminated cementum was overestimated. The method of instrumentation (i.e., hand instrument, sonic or ultrasonic scaler) does not influence wound healing after periodontal surgery. The operator's technique is of
