Transposable elements drive evolution and perturb gene expression in Brassica rapa and B. oleracea
Significance Statement Through systematic characterization of transposable elements (TEs) across 12 Brassica rapa and B. oleracea genomes, we identified critical patterns of genome evolution and uncovered a novel heat‐responsive TE family (Copia0035) with key similarities to the Arabidopsis ONSEN elements.
