Kinetic and thermodynamic studies for oxidation of rosaniline hydrochloride dye by persulfate in ambient temperatures

open access: yesDesalination and Water Treatment, 2016
AbstractThe kinetics of the oxidative decolorization of rosaniline hydrochloride by potassium persulfate was studied spectrophotometrically over a pH range of 3.5–9.5 at 30–45°C. The reaction was of second order with respect to dye and half order with respect to persulfate.

Evaluation of Antiulcer and Cytotoxic Potential of the Leaf, Flower, and Fruit Extracts of Calotropis procera and Isolation of a New Lignan Glycoside

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
Calotropis procera is traditionally used for treating many diseases including ulcers and tumors. It was thus deemed of interest to investigate and compare the antiulcer and cytotoxic activities of C. procera leaf, flower, and fruit extracts in an attempt to verify its traditional uses.

Modified Cenospheres as an Adsorbent for the Removal of Disperse Dyes

open access: yesAdvances in Environmental Chemistry, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
The main objective of this investigation was to use modified cenospheres for the removal of disperse blue 79:1 (DB) and disperse orange 25 (DO) dyes from aqueous solution by batch adsorption process under different conditions (pH, adsorbent dose, adsorbate concentration, agitation speed, contact time, and temperature).

Micellar Effects on Nucleophilic Addition Reaction and Applicability of Enzyme Catalysis Model

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 9, Issue 3, Page 1181-1187, 2012., 2012
This study describes the effect of anionic and cationic micelles on nucleophilic addition reaction of rosaniline hydrochloride (RH) with hydroxide under pseudo‐first order condition. Strong inhibitory effect is observed due to SDS micelle, whereas CTAB catalysed the reaction.

Rapid Spectrophotometric Determination of Trace Amounts of Nitrate‐Nitrogen Using Dapsone and α‐Naphthol

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, Volume 3, Issue 3, Page 146-153, 2006., 2006
A simple, rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the trace determination of nitrite using Dapsone and α‐Naphthol. The proposed method is based on the diazotization of Dapsone followed by coupling with α‐Naphthol in sodium hydroxide medium to give an intense pink coloured azo dye. The dye shows absorption maximum at 540 nm.

Eco-structured biosorptive removal of basic fuchsin using pistachio nutshells: A definitive screening design-based approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Biosorptive removal of basic fuchsin (BF) from wastewater samples was achieved using the recycled agro-wastes of pistachio nut shells (PNS). Seven adsorbents were developed; raw shells (RPNS) and the thermally activated biomasses at six different ...
