Using Rose Bengal photosensitizer for controlling Aphis gossypii and reducing transmission of zucchini yellow mosaic virus on squash plants [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
The cotton aphid, Aphis gossypii, exhibits the highest transmission rate of zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV). This study aimed to evaluate the lethal effect of Rose Bengal photosensitizer (RBPS) on aphids and transmission of ZYMV on squash plants ...

Rose Mosaic Virus Disease: A Disease Caused by a Virus Complex and Symptoms on Roses and Management Practices

open access: yesEDIS, 2018
Rose mosaic virus disease is one of the most economically important diseases affecting roses, because a single symptomatic leaf can result in the rejection of complete shipments for wholesale or retail rose producers.

Activation of Prunus necrotic ringspot virus and rose mosaic virus by RNa 4 components of some llarviruses

open access: yesVirology, 1977
Abstract RNA extracted from rose mosaic virus (RMV) and from necrotic ringspot virus-G(NRSV) separated into four sedimenting components in sucrose density gradients. The components were designated RNAs 1, 2, 3, and 4 in order of decreasing sedimentation velocities.

Efficiency of a chemo-thermotherapy technique for eliminating Arabis mosaic virus (ArMV) and Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) from in vitro rose plantlets

open access: yesJournal of Crop Protection, 2016
Mosaic is presumably the most commonly encountered viral disease in roses. We have developed chemo-thermotherapy for eliminating Arabis mosaic virus (ArMV) and Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) from rose plants.

Rose Virome Analysis and Identification of a Novel Ilarvirus in Taiwan

open access: yesViruses, 2022
Rose (Rosa spp.), especially R. hybrida, is one of the most popular ornamental plants in the world and the third largest cut flower crop in Taiwan. Rose mosaic disease (RMD), showing mosaic, line patterns and ringspots on leaves, is a common rose disease

Some Properties of Rose Mosaic Virus from South Australia [PDF]

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Biological Sciences, 1970
Isolates of rose mosaic virus (RMV) from South Australia were purified by differential centrifugation of cucumber extracts clarified by emulsification with ether, followed by sucrose density-gradient centrifugation. The virus was shown to be serologically similar to and to have many physical properties in common with RMV from North America.

Advancing the Rose Rosette Virus Minireplicon and Encapsidation System by Incorporating GFP, Mutations, and the CMV 2b Silencing Suppressor

open access: yesViruses, 2022
Plant infecting emaraviruses have segmented negative strand RNA genomes and little is known about their infection cycles due to the lack of molecular tools for reverse genetic studies.

Next-Generation Sequencing Reveals a Novel Emaravirus in Diseased Maple Trees From a German Urban Forest

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2021
While the focus of plant virology has been mainly on horticultural and field crops as well as fruit trees, little information is available on viruses that infect forest trees.
