Additive Manufacturing of Polymeric Pressure Die For Rotary Draw Bending Process
Abstract Additive manufacturing (AM) possess enormous potential to benefit the manufacturing industry. Presently, Rotary Draw Bending (RDB) is one of the most commonly used industrial process for bending metal tubes. RDB processes are carried out by using customized forming tools which are manufactured according to the shape and size of the ...

Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Evaluating Energy Absorption Performance of Filled Lattice Structures
Maximum stress must be considered to robustly evaluate energy absorber designs. This approach was applied to compare all types of absorbers in a single Ashby diagram and determine the utility of filling lattice voids with a second material. High‐performance fillers can improve the performance of lattices that are limited by buckling or catastrophic ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Thermal Influences during Rotary Draw Bending of Tubes from Stainless Steel
AbstractRotary draw bending of tubes is a widely used forming process. Tubes made of stainless steel e.g. from AISI 304 (X5 CrNi 18 9) are used in exhaust systems, in the food industry or to guide chemicals. The formability of this austenitic stainless steel is high, because of its high work hardening.
