Nonlinear supersonic flutter of panels considering shear deformation and rotary inertia
Computers & Structures, 1983Abstract Nonlinear supersonic flutter of panels is studied for end conditions of simply supported, clamped and partial restraint against rotation by a unified approach. The effect of shear deformation and rotary inertia on nonlinear flutter boundary is studied for various thicknesses of panel.

Effect of shear deformations and rotary inertia on optimum beam frequencies
International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1975AbstractAccounting for shear deformations and rotary inertia effects, necessary condition for optimum fundamental frequency of a vibrating beam of constant volume and with a given distribution of non‐structural mass, is obtained through the calculus of variations.

Effects of Shear Deformation and Rotary Inertia on the Free Vibration of a Rotating Annular Plate
Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, 1997This Tech Brief addresses the effects of shear deformation and rotary inertia on the free vibration of a rotating annular plate. Several studies have been done to understand these effects (Irie et al, 1982; Sinha, 1987). In particular, the importance of these terms is well known for disks with a thickness ratio h/a > 0.05 where h is the thickness of

Extension of the Myklestad Matrix Method to Include Rotary Inertia and Shear Deformation
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1960An extension to the matrix procedure of Thomson's adaptation to Myklestad's method is formulated to include both rotary inertia and shear deformation. These additions modify the frequency determination especially for the higher modes.

Abstract A numerical method based on the Rayleigh principle is applied in conjunction with the simplified Reissner-Mindlin theory which involves only a single variable, the transverse displacement, for predicting the fundamental frequencies of rectangular plates with rectangular cutouts.
