A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

Performance Test of Weld Zone of Rotary Friction Welding of Titanium Alloy Drill Pipe

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2023
Abstract With the development of complex oil and gas reservoirs, it is difficult for traditional carbon steel to meet the requirements of drill pipe materials in drilling process. Titanium alloy has gradually become a new choice of drill pipe material because of its low density and good corrosion resistance.
