Braneworld black holes and black strings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis involves the study of strong and weak gravity phenomenology within the braneworld paradigm. We begin with a general overview of the hypothesised concept of extra spatial dimensions and explain why they are so interesting.

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...

Testing the weak cosmic censorship conjecture in short haired black holes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
The weak cosmic censorship conjecture is a hypothesis about the nature of event horizons and singularities during the formation of black holes. It posits that singularities are always enveloped by the event horizons of black holes, thereby preventing ...

Gapless Superconductivity From Extremely Dilute Magnetic Disorder in 2H‐NbSe2‐xSx

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that 2H‐NbSe2‐xSx hosts gapless superconductivity at unexpectedly low magnetic impurity concentrations. Combining STM, Bogoliubovde Gennes simulations, DFT, and quasiparticle interference, we comprehensively study the development of gapless behavior and show that SeS substitution reshapes the band structure, enhances nesting, and drives ...

On the chaos bound in rotating black holes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
Abstract We study out-of-time-order correlators (OTOCs) of rotating BTZ black holes using two different approaches: the elastic eikonal gravity approximation, and the Chern-Simons formulations of 3-dimensional gravity. Within both methods the OTOC is given as a sum of two contributions, corresponding to left and right moving modes.

Hydrogel‐Based Airway‐on‐Tube With Perfusable Endothelial Lumen and Outward Epithelialization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A hydrogel‐based airway‐on‐tube platform featuring a perfusable endothelial lumen and outward epithelialization is presented. The system supports primary human bronchial epithelial and lung microvascular endothelial coculture under air‐liquid interface conditions.

Charged black rings at large D

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We study the charged slowly rotating black holes in the Einstein-Maxwell theory in the large dimensions (D). By using the 1/D expansion in the near regions of the black holes we obtain the effective equations for the charged slowly rotating black holes ...

Large‐Scale Determination of Frontier Orbital Energies of Disordered Small‐Molecule Organic Semiconductors Using Exciplex Emission Spectra

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accurately knowing the frontier orbital energies of the structurally disordered small‐molecule organic semiconductors that are used in optoelectronic devices such as organic light‐emitting diodes is required to rationally improve their performance. Here, we show that these energies can be deduced with a large accuracy from the peak energies of

The gravitational lensing by rotating black holes in loop quantum gravity

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
In this paper, we explore gravitational lensing effects associated with rotating black holes within the framework of loop quantum gravity. Utilizing the Gauss-Bonnet theorem as extended by Ono et al., we compute the light deflection angle in the weak ...
