Rotating galactic black holes

open access: yes
The galactic black hole is a supermassive black hole located at the center of a galaxy surrounded by a dark matter halo. For the first time, we establish a generic, fully-relativistic formalism to calculate solutions of Einstein's gravity minimally ...

A Self‐Driving Lab for Solution‐Processed Electrochromic Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A self‐driving laboratory accelerates the development of solution‐processed electrochromic thin films. By coupling machine learning with robotic fabrication and characterization, this closed‐loop platform systematically navigates complex processing parameters.

Large‐Diameter DNA‐Scaffolded Nanopores Enabled by Loosely Packed Peptides for Single‐Molecule Sensing

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A nanopore composed of transmembrane peptides and a DNA scaffold that assists peptide assembly was constructed. By employing peptides containing the unnatural amino acid 2‐aminoisobutyric acid (Aib), which promotes loose packing between helices, a large‐diameter nanopore was achieved.

Profiling Co‐Occurrent Morphological Phenotypes and Their Degree of Expression Severity in Vacuolated Cells by Holo‐Tomographic Flow Cytometry and Fractal Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
HTFC gets 3D refractive index tomograms of flowing cells. Label‐free monocytes are engineered to express patterns of cytoplasmic vacuoles. From the tomogram, an efficient dimensionality reduction is operated. Interpretable features are extracted to classify the expression severity of phenotypes coexisting in each cell, visually represented by a seven ...

One‐Shot Multimaterial 3D Printing of a Flexible Spine for a Robotic Fish Prototype

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A one‐shot multimaterial 3D printing approach enables a monolithic soft robotic fish integrating a compliant spine and rigid vertebrae. Electromagnetic linear actuators drive tendon‐based transmission, producing controlled tail oscillations. Finite element modeling and experiments show strong agreement, while optimized material selection improves ...

Matching the Coupling of Valence Electrons in the Oxide Interface to Perturb the Magnetic Order Enhancing Oxygen Reduction in Zinc–Air Batteries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Sub‐5 nm Fe2O3/Sm2O3 heterojunction nanoparticles are anchored on nitrogen‐doped carbon nanofibers, featuring coupled Fe(3d)‐O(2p)‐Sm(4f) orbitals at the interface. The resulting super‐exchange induces antiparallel magnetic ordering at heterointerfaces, suppressing spin‐dependent interaction between surface OH* species and Fe sites to facilitate OH ...

Instability and new phases of higher-dimensional rotating black holes

open access: yes
It has been conjectured that higher-dimensional rotating black holes become unstable at a sufficiently large value of the rotation, and that new black holes with pinched horizons appear at the threshold of the instability.

Exploiting Ferroelectric and Spintronic Dynamics for Neural Network Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric and spintronic devices, relying on the control of polarization and magnetization, offer intrinsically fast, durable, energy‐efficient, and low‐latency building blocks for analog in‐memory computing. The hysteretic dynamics of an order parameter are leveraged to provide nonvolatile, multistate memory and nonlinear switching. Brain‐inspired
