Design and Experimental Validation of a Ducted Counter-rotating Axial-flow Fans System [PDF]
An experimental study on the design of counter-rotating axial-flow fans was carried out. The fans were designed using an inverse method. In particular, the system is designed to have a pure axial discharge flow.

Study on the Rotation Effect on the Modal Performance of Wind Turbine Blades
With the large-scale development of wind turbines, large flexible blades bear heavier loads. In the actual rotating work of blades, the coupling of structural deformation and motion produces a dynamic stiffening effect and spin softening effect, which ...

Comparison of Various Turbulence Models in Rotating Machinery Blade‐to‐Blade Passages [PDF]
Numerical calculations on four blade passages are done using Q3D Navier‐Stokes solver with a simple mixing length turbulence model and two more advanced transport‐equation approaches. Mixing length is simple and cheap but crude, while more sophisticated transport approaches are more physical but more expensive.

Numerical simulation of the flow around a wind wheel with rotating cylindrical blades.
The article discusses the results of numerical simulation of the flow around a wind wheel with blades in the form of rotating cylinders using the software package ANSYS. The advantage of a wind turbine with rotating cylindrical blades in comparison with

Investigation of novel propulsion systems – the exoskeletal engine concept. Part II [PDF]
The exoskeletal engine represents a relatively new concept in the world of propulsion systems. It is a drum-rotor engine concept in which conventionally heavy shafts and discs are eliminated and replaced by rotating casings that support the blades in ...

Vibrations of a Rotating Blade
The bending vibrations of a rotating blade were investigated by some authors. But, as in the aerofoil seetion the centre of gravity and the centre of twist do not coincide the coupling of bending and twisting vibrations occurs necessarily. In the present investigation the frequencies of the above mentioned coupled vibrations of a rotating blade which ...

Scaling Method of the Rotating Blade of a Wind Turbine for a Rime Ice Wind Tunnel Test
In order to research the law of rime ice accretion on different scaling blades surface, a new rime ice scaling method was proposed in this research. According to previous research, there are three kinds of ice types on blade surfaces: rime ice, glaze ice
