Here we use a template‐assisted self‐assembly approach of metal colloids onto metal films to produce hybrid plasmonic metasurfaces that integrate nanoparticle‐on‐mirror cavities with periodic metal colloid arrays. The resulting coupling between gap plasmons and grating‐coupled surface plasmon polaritons enables programmable hybrid modes with tailored ...

Hopf bifurcation in wakes behind a rotating and translating circular cylinder
A low-dimensional Galerkin method, initiated by Noack and Eckelmann [Physica D 56, 151 (1992)], for the prediction of the flow field around a stationary two-dimensional circular cylinder in a uniform stream at low Reynolds number is generalized to the ...

Heating and Cooling Anomaly of a Rotating Body
This paper deals with an effect which appears when heating or cooling a rotating body. No external forces acting on the body are supposed. Due to thermal expansion, the moment of inertia of the body varies together with the temperature changes.

Stress in Rotating Disks and Cylinders [PDF]
Abstract : The solution of the classic problem of stress in a rotating elastic disk or cylinder, as solved in standard texts on elasticity theory, has two features: dynamical equations are used that are valid only in an inertial frame of reference, and quadratic terms are dropped in displacement gradient in the definition of the strain. I show that, in

Metallic dimer antennas on top of the phase‐change material Ge3Sb2Te6 are addressed with laser pulses, resulting in inhomogeneous crystallization. A self‐consistent multiphysics model is employed to simulate the crystallization and to understand the resulting shift of the antenna resonance.

Nonlocomotory Robotic Strategies for Dynamic Rotation Control in Terrestrial Robots: A Review
Terrestrial robots increasingly require rapid body rotation to maintain stability and agility in complex environments. This review shows nonlocomotory rotational control strategies that operate without ground contact, including reaction wheels, tails, bars, limbs, and thrusters.

Investigation of aerodynamic characteristics from the airflow angle of the rotating cylinder
Cylindrical body is classically an integral element of almost all aero-hydrodynamic devices and heat exchangers. Particular interest presents aerodynamic features with transverse flow and simultaneous rotation around the cylinder's axis.
