Nanocrystalline LCO/LLZO Composite Cathode Films for Solid State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A single precursor solution is solution‐deposited and calcined at only 750°C to yield a dense, nanograined LiCoO2/LLZO composite cathode, in which both phases crystallize independently with minimal interdiffusion. Assembled into all‐solid‐state Li‐metal batteries, the composite delivers 111.7 mAh g−1 initial discharge capacity and retains 93% after 100

Internal Electric Field‐Guided, Low‐Adsorption Ferroelectric Anode Protective Layers for Sustainable Suppression of Polysulfide Side Reactions in Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A positively polarized ferroelectric β‐pvdf layer incorporating fluorinated boron nitride nanosheets (PPFBN) establishes a strong internal field that promotes Li+ transport toward the anode while suppressing the migration of polysulfide anions. In addition, its intrinsically low polysulfide affinity helps preserve protective‐layer functionality ...

Disk structure on the performance of a rotating-disk dynamic filter: A case study on microalgae microfiltration

open access: yesChemical Engineering Research and Design, 2015
In a rotating-disk dynamic filter, the effects of the rotating-disk structure, including the shape and number of vanes, on the distribution of fluid velocity and shear stress acting on the membrane surface were examined using computational fluid dynamics

Recovery of linseed oil dispersed within an oil-in-water emulsion using hydrophilic membrane by rotating disk filtration system

open access: yesJournal of Membrane Science, 2009
The purpose of this paper is to investigate a method to recover the linseed oil from oil-in-water (O/W) emulsion by a rotating disk filtration system. The influence of transmembrane pressure (TMP), disk rotating speed, and disk geometry on permeate flux ...

The Stresses in Rotating Disks

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1931
Abstract This paper comprises the results of a photoelastic investigation, sponsored by The Norton Company, of the stresses in rotating disks. The classical theory of Chree with a few additions is presented, and the results of the experimental determinations are compared with the theory as well as actual breakages of vitrified wheels.

Magnetic rotating disk viscometer

International Journal of Thermophysics, 1989
A rotating disk viscometer has been developed aiming at measuring the viscosity at the critical consolute point of binary mixtures in the true hydrodynamic limit. The viscometer consists of a small magnetized disk set into slow rotation by a uniformly rotating magnetic field.

Rotating flows over a rotating disk

Ingenieur-Archiv, 1965
Abstract : Local boundary layer approximations of first order are computed for axisymmetric motions which rotate over a rotating disk in the same and opposite directions. The secondary motions, which are produced by the friction forces at the rotating disk, are essentially of pure stagnation type, distorted stagnation type, cell type, and pure wake ...

Stress analysis of rotating disks☆☆☆

Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1965
Abstract The equilibrium of a disk with variable thickness, symmetrical with respect to both its axis and its midplane, is analyzed, under the action of centrifugal and thermal loading. Introducing the customary assumption of plane stress, and neglecting the influence of shear stresses, the differential equilibrium equation is integrated, and stress ...

An Asymptotic Solution of a Rotating Disk

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1971
The solution of the problem of a thin circular disk rotating at a constant angular velocity about its axis is obtained as a formal power series of the thickness-diameter ratio. The matching of the inner and outer expansions at a circular edge is carried out in detail for the stress conditions as well as for the displacement conditions.
