Abstract Winterkill remains a constant concern for warm‐season putting greens in the transition zone, particularly on ultradwarf hybrid bermudagrass [Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers × C. transvaalensis Burtt‐Davy]. Using protective covers is an essential management strategy to prevent winterkill on putting greens.
