Optics Letters, 2008A carousel interferometer is designed to find the unknown angle and axis of rotation simultaneously. A set consisting of a compensator glass plate and a right-angle prism is placed in each of the two arms of the interferometer while located at the same rotational stage.

In this paper, authors discuss OC 152 as an example of the idea of modeling as it is used in the contemporary philosophy of science. In the first part, an analysis of OC 152 is supplied and three possible interpretations of the section. In the second part, Schulte’s analysis of OC 152 is presented.
