Long-period nutational-precessional motions of the instantaneous Earth rotation pole
The influence of the rotational regime on real long-period nutational-precessional motions of the instantaneous pole of the Earth’s rotation is considered. The solar magnetospheric (through changes in the angular velocity of rotation) mechanism of action

Limiting rotational period of neutron stars [PDF]
Pulsars have been identified with the theoretical objects called neutron stars. The identification is convincing—but not proved. The short rotational periods of millisecond pulsars inform us that the average density (and, therefore, the central density) must be very high—higher than the density of nuclei (5.8).

Rotation period distribution of CoRoT and Kepler Sun-like stars [PDF]
We study the distribution of the photometric rotation period (Prot), which is a direct measurement of the surface rotation at active latitudes, for three subsamples of Sun-like stars: one from CoRoT data and two from Kepler data.

Surprising variations in the rotation of the chemically peculiar stars CU Virginis and V901 Orionis [PDF]
CU Vir and V901 Ori belong among these few magnetic chemically peculiar stars whose rotation periods vary on timescales of decades. We aim to study the stability of the periods in CU Vir and V901 Ori using all accessible observational data containing ...

DISCOVERY OF ROTATIONAL MODULATIONS IN THE PLANETARY-MASS COMPANION 2M1207b: INTERMEDIATE ROTATION PERIOD AND HETEROGENEOUS CLOUDS IN A LOW GRAVITY ATMOSPHERE [PDF]
Rotational modulations of brown dwarfs have recently provided powerful constraints on the properties of ultra-cool atmospheres, including longitudinal and vertical cloud structures and cloud evolution.

Thermophysical Investigation of Asteroid Surfaces. II. Factors Influencing Grain Size
Asteroid surfaces are subjected to mechanical weathering processes that result in the development and evolution of regolith. Two proposed mechanisms—impact bombardment and thermal fatigue—have been proposed as viable and dominant weathering processes ...

GENERALIZED INVESTIGATION OF THE ROTATION–ACTIVITY RELATION: FAVORING ROTATION PERIOD INSTEAD OF ROSSBY NUMBER [PDF]
Magnetic activity in Sun-like and low-mass stars causes X-ray coronal emission which is stronger for more rapidly rotating stars. This relation is often interpreted in terms of the Rossby number, i.e., the ratio of rotation period to convective overturn ...

Gravity-mode period spacings and near-core rotation rates of 611 γ Doradus stars with Kepler [PDF]
We report our survey of γ Dor stars from the 4-yr Kepler mission. These stars pulsate mainly in g modes and r modes, showing period-spacing patterns in the amplitude spectra.
