Measuring Low Viscosities and High Shear Rates with a Rotational Rheometer in a Thin-gap Parallel-disk Configuration

We modify a commercial rheometer so that the disks are aligned perpendicular to the axis of rotation with a precision in parallelism of about 1 μm independent of the rheometer reading. This leads to decrease the zero-gap error by a factor of 25 and more.

A Shear Thickening Colloidal Suspension Functioning via Progressive Impact Jamming with Persistent Lubrication Layer

An ionic liquid‐based shear‐thickening fluid (ILSTF) exhibits lubricated dynamics from strong shear thickening to impact‐triggered jamming. A persistent nanometric solvation layer around silica governs both the shear thickening saturation in rheology and jamming front propagation under dynamic impact compression.

Monolithic 3D Printing of Origami‐Inspired Soft Robotics from Sustainable Bio‐Based Resin

This work develops a photocurable, bio‐based resin from soybean oil for the monolithic fabrication of sustainable soft robots via Digital Light Processing. An origami‐inspired, vacuum‐actuated soft gripper is designed and fabricated, enabling reliable operation despite the material's lower elongation.

A mechanically robust, ROS‐responsive hydrogel is engineered to treat intervertebral disc degeneration by targeting the NF‐κB–LCN2 inflammatory feedback loop. By delivering wedelolactone specifically within oxidative niches, this system disrupts macrophage–disc cell crosstalk.
