Temperature Calibration of Rotational Rheometers with Electrically Heated Tools and Hood Oven
The calibration of the temperature control unit of a rotational rheometer with a hood oven is shown. The calibration technique shown for a Paar-Physica rheometer can be adapted to any rheometer with hood oven (indirect heating).

Foam-like compression behavior of fibrin networks [PDF]
The rheological properties of fibrin networks have been of long-standing interest. As such there is a wealth of studies of their shear and tensile responses, but their compressive behavior remains unexplored.

A portable rotating disc as blood rheometer
Abnormalities in biophysical properties of blood are often strong indicators of life threatening infections. However, there is no existing device that integrates the sensing of blood hematocrit (or equivalently, packed cell volume), viscosity, and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) in a unified paradigm for point-of-care diagnostics.

Magnetic wire as stress controlled micro-rheometer for cytoplasm viscosity measurements [PDF]
We review here different methods to measure the bulk viscosity of complex fluids using micron-sized magnetic wires. The wires are characterized by length of a few microns and diameter of a few hundreds of nanometers.

Evaluation of Techniques for Measuring the Yield Stress of a Magnetorheological Fluid
The yield stress of a magnetorheological fluid was measured as a function of magnetic flux density using different techniques. The yield stress values were determined by extrapolating the experimental shear stress-shear rate data to zero shear rate with ...

Low to high shear rate powder rheology in a rotational rheometer [PDF]
Characterization techniques are essential for understanding powders’ complex behavior. Among different devices, the Anton Paar Powder Rheometer (MCR-302) was used to characterize high-density polyethylene (HDPE).

Processing rheological properties of ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer/nylon 6 composites
Ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer/nylon 6 (EVOH/PA6) composites were prepared by a melt blending method. The processing rheological properties of EVOH/PA6 composites were studied by advanced capillary rheometer and rotational rheometer.

Shear viscosity and nonlinear behaviour of whole blood under large amplitude oscillatory shear [PDF]
We investigated experimentally the rheological behavior of whole human blood subjected to large amplitude oscillatory shear under strain control to assess its nonlinear viscoelastic response.

A Vane Rheometer for Fresh Mortar: Development and Validation
This paper presents the development of a vane rheometer to estimate mortar plastic viscosity and yield stress. The rheological parameters were developed from measurements using a procedure to convert the vane torque and rotational velocity data into ...
