Experimental Investigation of the Spiral Structure of a Magnetic Capsule Endoscope

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2016
Fitting a wireless capsule endoscope (WCE) with a navigation feature can maximize its functional benefits. The rotation of a spiral-type capsule can be converted to translational motion.

Fatigue Crack Initiation and Growth in Nanocrystalline Ni at Multiple Length‐Scales

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Overview of miniaturized in situ SEM fatigue setup and resultant fatigue crack growth data for nanocrystalline Ni. The presented study focuses on the analysis of fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) in focused ion beam‐notched microcantilevers prepared from nanocrystalline (NC) Ni as a model material.

Experimental Investigation of Runback Water Flow Behavior on Aero-Engine Rotating Spinners with Different Wettabilities

open access: yesAerospace
The accumulation of ice on the aero-engine inlet compromises engine safety. Traditional hot air anti-icing systems, which utilize bleed air, require substantial energy, decreasing engine performance and increasing emissions.

Finite Element Analysis for Cylindrical and Balling Bearings Under Static and Dynamic Loads A-review paper [PDF]

open access: yesSVU-International Journal of Engineering Sciences and Applications
The ball bearing is a mechanical gearbox's most important component. It connects the roller to the inner and outer rings and hangs from the rotator to support the revolving parts. This technique allows for the transmission of both electricity and motion.

Surface Reconstruction Using Rotation Systems

open access: yesACM Transactions on Graphics
Inspired by the seminal result that a graph and an associated rotation system uniquely determine the topology of a closed manifold, we propose a combinatorial method for reconstruction of surfaces from points. Our method constructs a spanning tree and a rotation system.

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

THE INFLUENCE OF CHARACTERISTIC PARAMETERS ON THE VORTEX STRUCTURE OF THE TAYLOR-COUETTE FLOW OF COMPRESSIBLE GAS

open access: yesНаучный вестник МГТУ ГА, 2016
The Couette-Taylor flow of compressible gas at high Reynolds numbers is studied. Problem statement is formulated on the basis of the differential equation system (the Navier-Stockes equations) for compressible gas in cylindrical coordinates. On the basis

Optimization of the Production of Rubber Compounds Using Mathematical Models

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Rubber compounds were mixed in a batch internal mixer, and symbolic regression was used to derive mathematical models linking recipe and process parameters to ram path, torque, and mixing quality (incorporation, dispersion, distribution). Subsequent optimization with evolutionary algorithms identified operating conditions that reduce specific energy ...
