Arthroscopic Transtendinous Modified Double-Row Suture Bridge Repair of a Bony PASTA Lesion
Surgical and conservative management of partial tears of the rotator cuff has long been a controversial topic for many generations of shoulder surgeons. These tears frequently occur on both the articular and bursal surfaces and within the intrasubstance ...

Common sports‐related nerve injuries seen by the electrodiagnostic medical consultant
Abstract The high physiologic demands of sports create dynamic stress on joints, soft tissues, and nerves which may lead to injuries in the athlete. Electrodiagnostic (EDx) assessment is essential to identify the correct diagnosis, localization, and prognosis, to guide management of sports‐related neuropathies.

ABSTRACT Iatrogenic nerve injuries are a significant concern for medical professionals and the patients affected. Peri‐procedural nerve injuries result in functional deficits associated with pain and disability. The exact pathophysiology and etiology of peri‐procedural nerve injuries are complex and often elude providers.

The rat as a novel model for chronic rotator cuff injuries
AbstractChronic rotator cuff injuries (CRCIs) still present a great challenge for orthopaedics surgeons. Many new therapeutic strategies are developed to facilitate repair and improve the healing process. However, there is no reliable animal model for chronic rotator cuff injury research.

Nicorandil treatment improves survival and spatial learning in aged granulin knockout mice
Progranulin knockout mice display a profound reduction in survival, as well as increased inflammation and cognitive impairment. Treatment of these mice with nicorandil—a K+ATP channel agonist, decreased mortality and improves cognitive impairment. Abstract Mutations in the human granulin (GRN) gene are associated with multiple diseases, including ...

Rotator cuff tears, a common musculotendinous injury, often lead to permanent functional disability. A novel hyaluronic acid‐based hydrogel shows promise in promoting muscle regeneration after rotator cuff repair. The hydrogel reduces fibrosis, fatty infiltration, and muscle atrophy while supporting vascularization in a murine model.
