Bridged h‐BN Nanosheets Coatings: Simultaneous Shielding Atomic‐Oxygen Irradiation and Achieving Superior Friction Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To confront extreme space environments, a combination of inorganic and organic coatings can provide a pathway for offering highly durable radiation resistance and anti‐friction simultaneously. Herein, a strong interfacial 3D hydrogen‐bonding network is designed to create robust hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN) based polymer coatings with ...

Taming Flexibility: Synergistic Pore and Polarity Engineering in a MOF for High‐Efficiency Xe/Kr Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through a mixed‐ligand strategy that precisely regulates pore size and framework polarity, the Xe adsorption behavior is transformed from flexible to near‐rigid. ZIF‐7‐Cl(20) achieves sensitive recognition, efficient capture, and high selectivity for Xe, enabling high‐efficiency separation from Xe/Kr mixtures.

Process Intensification of Photochemical Oxidations using a High Throughput Rotor-Stator Spinning Disk Reactor: A Strategy for Scale Up

open access: yes, 2020
This paper presents a novel high-throughput reactor for intensification of photochemical conversion processes. The photocatalyzed gas-liquid oxidation of α-terpinene to the drug ascaridole with rose-bengal was achieved with throughputs of over 1 kg∙day-1

Torque, but not FliL, regulates mechanosensitive flagellar motor-function

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The stator-complex in the bacterial flagellar motor is responsible for surface-sensing. It remodels in response to perturbations in viscous loads, recruiting additional stator-units as the load increases.

A Versatile‐Designable Framework for Active and Programmable Shape‐Morphing Soft Matter Systems: From Inverse Design to Closed‐Loop Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A versatile framework integrates addressable electrothermal actuation and strain‐constraint mechanisms to construct programmable shape‐morphing soft matter systems. By combining an analytical inverse design strategy for high‐fidelity 3D surface reconstruction with deep learning‐based closed‐loop control, this approach enables zero‐energy shape locking,

Experimental investigation on the effect of the rotor-stator matching mode on velocity pulsation in the centrifugal pump with a vaned diffuser

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
Centrifugal pumps play an indispensable role in nuclear power plants, where severe turbulent pulsations induced by the rotor-stator interference (RSI) can generate a substantial threat to the safe and stable operation of these facilities.
